The Houston Jazz Spotlight is a labor of love born of artist and historian, Tierney Malone’s love of Jazz Afro-classical music. Each week, the show focuses on the complex history of jazz’s roots in Houston, Texas. Tierney educates his listeners by weaving storytelling and music into a rich vibrant tapestry that is the history of Houston Jazz.

Tierney plays the best in home-grown jazz, showcasing past and contemporary artists from Houston, Texas. Each week, you’ll hear the likes of Arnett Cobb, Jason Moran, Milt Larkin, Eddie “Clean Head” Vinson, Robert Glasper, The Crusaders, Illinois Jacquet, Jewel Brown, Ernestine Anderson, Don Wilkerson, James Francies, Mike Moreno, Kendrick Scott and Reggie Quinerly.
